Stagger Lee

Asagaya is a french multi instrumentalist musician and songwriter. He played and composed in a number of different experimental rock, trip-hop and soul/funk bands since 1996.

His track "Stagger Lee (Mutant Ninja Edit)" was released in 2016 and is a creative reinterpretation of the classic folk song "Stagger Lee." This version adds a modern twist with elements of mutant ninja themes, blending traditional storytelling with a contemporary, energetic vibe.

Sometimes this song goes places I don't understand. I think this speaks to the strange power and mystery of the song. Other songs have been recorded more often but no other song transforms and inspires the way Stagger Lee does.
