Herbert Jansch was a Scottish folk musician. He was born in Glasgow and came to prominence in London in the 1960s as an acoustic guitarist and singer-songwriter. He recorded more than 28 albums and toured extensively from the 1960s to the 21st century.
Jansch included a rendition of "Stagolee" on his live album Young Man Blues: Live in Glasgow 1962–1964. This album, released in 1998, features recordings from Jansch's early performances in Glasgow's folk clubs during the early 1960s.
